OUR TASK
In this project, we were supposed to use biotechnology to help try to solve a world problem through different stages of research. At one point, we made a mock email to a mentor that would help us in trying to solve the problem. Our problem was feeding the next billion. Our way to help feed the next billion was to encourage urban and home farming and make a way for everybody regardless of who they are to garden at home.
CONCEPTS
Overpopulation- When a human population exceeds the carrying capacity
Carrying Capacity- The population that a place can carry
Population- The amount of people or animals living in an area or country.
Urban Farming- Practice of farming in a city
Home Farming- Practice of farming in your house
Composting- The process of recycling organic or dead material in our case using it as fertilizer

REFLECTION
In this project, we were given a choice in what to do. Using our free choices, we had to make the right ones. We chose the concept in feeding the next billion people. By doing this, we controlled the rest of the project and were given a big responsibility over the course of the project. One peak was when we were making a blueprint for our project. During this part I feel like we worked well and and cohesively. Another peak was just working with my peers for the last time this year. One pit was when we were one day behind on all the stages. Another pit was the crunch for time at the very end when we were in a rush to finish. Next project we should work better and more effectively. We did not stay on task as much as we should have. We must fix this next time.
