Evidence of Work
In this project, we were tasked with taking a regular household object and take it apart, see how it works, and then come up with a hack to improve it. Our group decided to use a toaster as our object. Since we had such a complex machine and limited time, we decided to break the toaster into four parts. Of the four parts, seen below in the presentation, I had the toasting assembly. This included the cage and grates that the toast is held in. Once we had our specialized process we had to break apart, sketch, and analyze the parts that go into the portion of the toaster. After we made our sketches and analysis, we had to make a presentable product. To do this, we made a slideshow to be presented in front of the class as well as a formal report with all the data that we collected included on it.

Overall, I really enjoyed this project. Some of the most notable parts included when we were disassembling the toaster. At this point, we were all very eager to rip open the toaster and see what was inside. This began my interest in the rest of this project. The other notable part of this project that went well was when we all made our first sketches. I feel like this was the best of our teamwork throughout the project.
On the other hand, there was a few very bad parts of this project. During the course of this project I had doctor's appointments and tests that made me miss a significant amount of class. And, to make it worse, I didn't communicate effectively with my team when I was gone. This left a huge void in the team and our effectiveness. The other rough spot was when there was a tragedy at our school. This left me and another teammate in a tricky situation. Our minds shifted to other subjects and lost focus on the project. This also made it much harder for our other group members. Even through these events, I feel like I learned a lot doing this project.
