Evidence of Work
In this project, we were tasked with creating a timeline full of facts and pictures regarding a set of major events and breakthroughs in the history of marine biology. We did this by researching different events as well as watching a slideshow with information regarding them. We found out how and when they took place and their significance to the history of marine biology.
As a group, we then created a poster with all of the events on it in chronological order. After we completed the poster and colored everything in, we did a gallery walk and left feedback on other groups' work.

Content
Aristotle- Greek scholar that wrote records of the significant biological observations in the 4th Century.
James Cook-English sea captain who was employed as a full-time naturalist and did three voyages to Antarctic and Pacific Islands 1768-1779
Charles Darwin- Proposed theory of evolution by natural selection
Marine Labs- Created to study living organisms for long term experiments and allowed more access to more biologists
The Wilkes Expedition- First international survey that was funded by the US that charted the west coast
Challenger Expedition-British voyage from 1872-1876 that was geared for bottom sampling that produced 50 volumes of data
Sonar-Sound navigation ranging that was used for urgent military use funded Woods Hole and Scripps
Scuba-(Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) that allowed marine biologists to observe organisms by diving underwater
Flip- (Floating Instrument Platform) Uses water to fill the hull which swings FLIP to a vertical position and stabilizes the vessel
Alvin- A deep sea submersible made in woods Hole in 1964, owned by US NAVY and can reach 99% of the global ocean floor
Satelite Imagery- Device that monitored global temperature, weather, algae production, pollution
Aquarius-Aquarius is an underwater marine biology lab
ROV's- Remote operated vehicle used for going underwater and exploring depths

Reflection
I learned a lot about myself in this project. I learned that I actually enjoy to draw and I feel like it showed in the drawings that I made. Another thing I learned about myself was my collaboration skills. I feel like usually when working with new people I take the back seat and am more quiet but in this project I feel like I fixed that.
